Do I have to get my wisdom teeth taken out before I can get braces?

Hi, Congrats. I am 17 and just graduated,yippee; this year will be so fun for you. Now to your question. You might because wisdom teeth can mess up the nice work that braces do. You would not want to get braces then have to get them again because your w. teeth screwed everything up? Trust me it does not hurt for that long and you could probably get your braces on by the time school starts ( if you start after labor day; I did not). You only are in pain for four days and are back to eating normal food on the fifth. It is really up to you though. Good Luck.
